The Economy Is Rebellious. My Nervous System Is Not Joining Her.
The economy is super rebellious right now.
And while I was standing at the gas pump watching $45 disappear into a half-empty tank, something in me got very still.
Not scared.
Not dramatic.
Just… observant.
And my visceral response was:
She’s giving soft jaw, open heart, don’t-test-me energy.
Because apparently this season requires a woman who can look directly at rising prices, shrinking margins, unexpected expenses, and a grocery receipt with an attitude—
and still refuse to let panic run the household.
Babe.
This is not the era for a clenched jaw and a nervous system doing unpaid overtime.
This is the era of:
Soft jaw.
Clear numbers.
Open heart.
Locked gates.
Because there is a difference between being financially aware and becoming energetically possessed by the price of eggs.
One is wisdom.
The other is letting the economy move into your body rent-free.
And absolutely not.
I can respect the numbers without worshipping them.
I can tighten a budget without tightening my entire pelvic floor.
I can say, “That is not in the plan right now,” without turning scarcity into my new personality.
I can adjust.
Recalculate.
Renegotiate.
Move differently.
But I do not have to let every price increase become an emergency meeting inside my nervous system.
That is grown-woman wealth.
Not pretending everything is fine.
Knowing how to stay with yourself when it isn’t.
So lately, I’ve been asking a different question.
Not:
“How do I control everything?”
But:
“How do I remain resourced while everything is moving?”
Because a woman who feels safe enough to think clearly makes different decisions.
She catches the subscription she forgot about.
She waits before impulse buying.
She asks better questions.
She negotiates.
She knows when to spend.
She knows when to hold.
She knows when something is expensive—
and when something is simply not worth access to her peace.
That distinction?
Delicious.
So yes, darling.
The economy may be outside behaving like somebody’s rebellious auntie with three credit cards and no supervision.
But inside?
We are pouring tea.
Reviewing the numbers.
Unclenching the jaw.
And remembering that panic has never been a financial strategy.
Soft jaw.
Open heart.
Sharp discernment.
Don’t-test-me energy.
Because even in a rebellious economy—
your inner world does not have to become one.
