🍵 Kadha Recipe
Ingredients
2 cloves, whole
1 black peppercorn
1 tsp grated ginger
5–6 holy basil leaves (or 1 tsp dried)
2 green cardamom pods
¼ tsp fennel seeds
1 small cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
2–3 strands saffron
½ tsp turmeric powder
3–4 cups water
½ tsp raw, unpasteurized honey
½ tsp ghee or butter oil
Instructions
In a pot, dry roast the whole spices — cloves, pepper, cardamom, fennel, cinnamon, and bay leaf — for 2 minutes to awaken their oils.
Pour in the water, add ginger + optional spices, and bring to a boil.
Add holy basil, then simmer 4–5 minutes until the water reduces by half.
Strain into your favorite mug.
Stir in honey + ghee while warm (never boiling hot, to protect the honey’s properties).
Ritual Notes
Morning sip = clarity + energy without the jitters.
Evening sip = grounding, calming, a warm hug for your nervous system.
If you’re feeling low immunity or emotional heaviness → double the tulsi.
Closing Wisdom
Tulsi Kadha isn’t just about herbs — it’s about remembering that healing can be simple, ancient, and delicious. One pot, one simmer, one sip — and suddenly, your body remembers balance.
So bestie, next time we’re together, this is what I’m brewing for us. Until then, promise me you’ll try it tonight. 💛
