Before You Spiral: Rehydrate. (It’s the Salts, Babe.)
If your whole tribe is sick and suddenly everybody is anxious, cranky, and wide-awake at 2–4am… I need you to hear me: You might not be “losing it.”
This happened to me—I thought I was spiraling, and nope, turns out… my electrolytes were low.
So if you’re feeling unhinged? Sometimes it’s just… your electrolytes falling off the corporate ladder.
Illness quietly drains the tank (sweat, fever, snot, barely eating, vomiting/diarrhea), and when sodium + potassium + magnesium dip, your nervous system goes—and then your nervous system gets spicy on the mic.😭
Like:
cramps / twitchy legs / restless legs
irritability (“why is everyone breathing so loud?”)
headaches, body buzzing
heart-flutter feelings
and those disrespectful 2–4am wakeups
So no, you’re not unwell in your character.
You’re unwell in your minerals.
The Mini Reset (co-regulate the whole house + classroom)
Do this with your kids too—CEO voice optional:
Breathe in & out x 5
→ sip warm tea or broth
→ drop your shoulders
→ say: “We’re safe. We’re going slow.”
That’s it. That’s the meeting agenda.
DIY Electrolyte Sips (homemade ORS)
Stir well:
1 liter water (about 4¼ cups)
6 tsp sugar
½ tsp salt (Himalayan or Celtic Salt)
Sip slowly. Small sips count.
If anyone is nauseous, start with tiny sips and build.
Tycoon Safety Note
If anyone has severe dehydration signs, chest pain, fainting, confusion, trouble breathing, or can’t keep fluids down—call your clinician/urgent care. Especially for babies and elders.
If you want my simple sick-day schedule for co-regulation + hydration (so you can stop parenting from the trenches), reply: RHYTHM
